How does one define success in life?
Wealth?
Health?
Love?

Having achieved a degree/masters and what have you?
There are just so many expectations in the world these days.
So much to achieve.
So much that we need.

Ayyyyy.

My definition of success.
The ability to live happily with the ones you love.
The ability to make the ones you love happy.
The ability to get things that you want and not having to worry about a single damn thing.
Yeah...
You feel me!

And I especially love the times where I can just spend my pay!
It's like after a long full month and you see the benjamins coming in.
It is such a joy.
It just makes me feel so capable.
Haha..
What a silly thought...
But hey, I am easily contented.

Success in life is when you live with no regrets.
And I learnt that if you want things in life.
You jolly well fight for it.
Nobody is going to source it out for you man!

I guess God has really blessed with great things!
Praise the Lord!

Hi all.
It's pretty late.
But I can't sleep yet cos I'm not done clearing up the mess I made
Well, see
I'm on a small little project called Cater for Zenas' Exhibition.
Just done with baking the brownies and preparing the finger food.
Will start on the fruit tarts tomorrow morning.

Man, it's going to be a hectic week once again.
You have no idea.
Sometimes, I find myself stoning at my organizer,
repeating the thoughts in my head.
It's going to eat me up someday.

Let's talk about work...
It's stressful sometimes cos I really hate it
when the clients ask me stuff and yet I can't freaking answer them
cos either I ain't sure or I just don't know!
It's frustrating!
And you know, each time Edric explains it to me,
I somehow get it and in the end when I get on the phone,
I'm at a loss of words.
The best part is..
I can't even smoke them...
Hah!
What am I doing man...

But it does get better now and then when I feel the satisfaction in
helping my manager or say the lawyers I work with.

We just have to think this way.

I've been so caught up with stuff!

Well, don't worry.
I still manage to balance it out and spend time with the Mr.
So things are going on fine!

Well, It's so tough to get a job now.
I know I'm so lucky to have job recommendations.
As of Thursday, I'll no longer be working with my dad.
But instead, with my mum!
And what do I think of that?
I'm going to miss going to work with him.
The conversations we have and the nonsense we share.
It's meaningful, you know. (Yes, I know I'm emo.)
I kinda wish I can stay on and do more.
But it'll also be good if I could gain some administrative experience.
Just hope i do a good job!
And I guess I can always help my dad out after work,
if it fits my schedule well.

And some of my intellectual friends have got replies from NUS.
And me?
Nothing!
Zilch!
Kosong!

I don't really know how to look at it, you know.
If I get in, then that's it..

And if I don't?
I have more time to really think of what i want?

I'm tired.
It's a freaking sauna here.
And I'm having a headache.

It's been a while since the last update.
Previously, I was having so much difficulty finding a job.
Don't expect me to work as a draftsman or project manager or something.
At my youth, I want to try out new things,
and possibly acquire new skills that would be essential in the future.
There are many on the list in fact.
I do want to work in the kitchen but that would require me to work during weekends
which can't fit my current schedule.
Church will be affected and the job as a the receptionist would be compromised.
So many issues, yar!

Anyway, I'm currently helping my dad with his wine business!
I know it means a lot to him and as a daughter,
I want to be a part of helping him to build up the business.
There's much to learn...
Thank goodness 3 years of Architecture is of good use now.
I'll let you take a look at the website soon yar!
It's a complete mess now!
It's stressful sometimes, the pressure I put on myself
cos I don't want to let family down.

It was down to four of them.

And they actually finished an entire bottle of Vodka.
Madness.

They were at it for a good hour and a half!
Till all of them finally dozed off.

Hwee Miang left early in the morning.

That's all there is,
there isn't anymore.

School's almost out for most of us.

It's really horrible to face the reality.
It burn, it kills.
Why can't we just have a little more time to think about it?
But, sadly...
Things don't always go the way you want them to.
I applied for NUS and somehow I really wondered why I did that.
Is that what I really want?
Or is that what I should want for a better future?
Life isn't about doing something that you love anymore.
It was more of doing something that you know could give you a good future.
Many things keep playing back in my head.
What Gen said, what Mum said...
It is a wake up call.
I have my reasons for applying for Architecture,
although i was so reluctant a couple of weeks ago.
and somehow i managed to convince myself it was for the better.
People may have dreams that they want to chase,
but judging by the global economy right now...
Not a chance...
I'll just prepare the necessary documents and hope for the best!
Hope I'll be as lucky as I think I am!

On a much lighter note,
We celebrated Vanessa's 21st birthday on Valentine's Day.
The first princess of the clique to hit adulthood.
I must admit, it was hell of a surprise.
And along with that, came hell of a preparation!
We sat down, discussing and pondering of what the ultimate surprise would be for the birthday girl.
Carefully, sticking to the budget and trying to get the best of both worlds.
The great party and least cost incurred.
Many ideas were thrown across,
some slammed down, some delightfully acknowledged.

Finally, we decided to surprise her on 13th, midnight.
With cake, location, presence and gift!
So away, we went...
Spent an entire day shopping for the perfect gift
and many many days trying to do up the video for her..
Socks did a lot of the filming, running all about.
Thanks to her and Berenda who accompanied her.
So I settled the ingredients for the cake.
Many things didn't go according to plan cos we didn't cooperate.
I shan't mention, cos we all know it.
It was the death of me!
Lucky for me, JQ was there to lend a hand!



All in all, we managed to pull it off and Vanessa had a smashing surprise!
From being moved to tears to laughing out loud.
It sure was a night to remember.
Boon Sin's Birthday is in about three weeks!
Much to plan, much to plan!

Submission is in two weeks!

Oh Goodness.
We are all so so dead!
There is so much to change and edit.

I've been in my seat for the past 3 hours listening to Britney Spears.
3 hours is really long...
considering the fact that I suffer from short attention span.
Anyways, I doubt I'll be sleeping tonight.
I'll try to stay awake.
It always seems that when I see the clock hit 11pm , it means bed time.
Very very bad.

I'm lacking a social life.
I've not seen my girls since the new year and it already feels so long.
It's about time to meet Dada and Kat too!
Really miss them much!
But I shall wait till after my submission.

I went to HYLA today.
It was hell of a spring cleaning.

Lucky for me, my arms aren't aching, if not I'll prolly be buried in my comforter.

1st January 2009 marks the end of the year 2008
Another fruitful year gone by.
I'd say the most significant thing that has
happened to me this year was having reunited with my girlfriends.
The get-togethers & outings we had these year has truly been meaningful.
And there's more to come, I'm sure!
Hopefully this year, we can go somewhere with our passports!
Malacca, Bangkok & Taiwan!

Jq and I have been really good!
Frequent quarrels but that's normal.
Other than that, we're cool.
So maybe if we're that good, we can get married this September!

A new year
A brand new start!

So much has gone on the past few days...
Don't you just love Christmas!?
The Pyjamas Party was awesome!
And seriously nothing beats spending it with your girlfriends!
There was so much to do!
From cooking & preparing the food to decorating the house!
It was killer!
But honestly, it was worth the effort.

So the long awaited Christmas Party arrived
and everyone arrived at my place full of joy and excitement!
I, for one was particularly excited!
We got started on preparing the food!
Vanessa, Hwee Miang and I a team,
and the other four of them at the command of Phillicia, the decoration leader!
Everything went well as we planned it to be!
Table was set, coloured balloons and streamers
around the living area and food resting well in the kitchen!
Dinner started shortly after..
Eight of us were confined to the cosy corner outside the house.
And that was where we were throughout the entire evening.
Striking glasses and being merry!
They enjoyed the food!
Mum prepared her yummy yummy Beef & Oxtail Stew!
And we attempted to bake Shepherd's Pie and good golly!
It turned out a success!
They were accompanied by Baked Chicken on Mushroom & Potatoes!
And something which was a cross between Pizza and Bruschetta!
Love the food!
Love the company!
Love the occasion!

Games followed after that!
And we had out very own edition of Pictionary!
Two teams!
Vanessa, Socks, Hwee Miang & I
Philly, Boon Sin, Adeline & Berenda!
They nailed us like hell with 13 against 7!
Damn!

The bulk of the laughter was contributed
when it was time for us to slip into our PJ's!
And do the catwalk!
Yup, you heard me right!
The Catwalk!
I can tell you, it's one of the most embarrassing things I've ever done in my life
Embarrassing but absolutely necessary!
You don't want to know the things we actually did!

Gift Exchange came after that with lots of phototaking!
Everyone seemed satisfied with what they got!
Socks was my buddy and she did up a sweet christmas card!
Honestly, the most sincere one i have ever received!
She got me a Pastry Cookbook!
Beyond Brilliant!
Love it!
It's been traveling around with me for the past few days!
I'm going to attempt the recipes soon!

I have thoughts of attempting to bake a fruit tart.
Maybe a 10 inch one!

And that brings me to the thought of what I should do after poly.
I mean, the obvious thing to do is to get into a University.
But somehow I find it really draining to have to continue Architecture.
Seems like there is greater passion to be involved in the culinary industry.
I want to take a Diploma in Pastry & Baking at Shatec.
If only I realized this passion right after secondary school,
I wouldn't have wasted my 3 years then.
But on the bright side of it all,
I met a great bunch of friends
and I'm exposed to several aspects of design
which I believe will definitely be meaningful in my future.

Sometimes, it's really scary to think of the future.
I mean how bad can it be right?
I tend to think it's easy-going, smooth-sailing or what have you.
But it could be because I was brought up in a different environment.
I keep telling myself that I'll make it.
But seriously, who knows?

You've gotta DREAM BIG & EXPECT LITTLE.

I'm done with the puzzle and you have no idea how much fun I had completing it!

Fixing puzzles are such a joy!
If they weren't so expensive, I'd probably get one every week!

Was at Vivo City the other day and they have this new National Geographic Shop!
Really cool stuff there.
